The Audit Committee met as scheduled on February 28th, 2022. We were presented with the independent auditor's report, conducted by Crowe. Though they noted some logistical challenges due to turnover in our staff, the City of Richardson was ultimately presented with a perfect report from Crowe.
I made sure to inquire about the professionalism of our staff during this process and was pleased to hear that our team was professional throughout, with no conflicts or mistreatment of the auditors! Additionally, Crowe rotates auditors enough that neither side is too comfortable with each other. As a reminder, you can find both the independent auditor's report and our ACFR here: https://www.cor.net/departments/finance/financial-statement

The Audit Committee will meet on 2/28/2022.
I highly encourage anyone who has questions about how the City's financial health is measured to attend this meeting. Beforehand, if you're really curious, you could also read Richardson's latest CAFR and Auditor's Reports - I will post the link below: Financial Statements | Richardson, TX (cor.net) They're good prep for understanding what will be discussed at this meeting. |
Audit CommitteeJoe Corcoran currently sits on the audit committee, where he acts as the final overseer to the city's external audit. Even though this committee only meets a couple times a year, the oversight function is important. See what we do with updates here. ArchivesCategories |
